Interview on the Secret Origins of Steve’s Quest

I was honored to be interviewed by Kimberly Lew over at Emerging Musical Theatre, which is a blog that covers some amazing, contemporary composers and shows.  We talked about the origins of Steve’s Quest, the Comic-Con panel the cast and crew will almost certainly, eventually, do, the reasons I decided to play the title role, and the proverbial “much, much more!”  Enjoy.

It was great to find out exactly how your idea came about – your creative process in flight if you like! And your determination to get this done really is inspiring for those who might be thinking of giving up on a project.

Hi Andrea — thanks, I like the notion that my determination in finishing this might inspire someone else to complete a project they’re having their doubts about — I think it’s so important for people who feel like they’ve got an artistic statement to make to put it out there.

Ok, so I’m a little behind on your posts . . . I just listened to one of your songs–what a beautiful voice you have! Truly. Could listen to it again and again.

Hi Kay — I’m glad you enjoyed the song — it’s funny, I haven’t become particularly confident in my singing voice until fairly recently, and I’ve mostly just written songs and played drums and piano, but it’s gratifying to hear that my voice can positively affect people.

Hi Alarna — yes, because I’ve found that it’s a source of inspiration, it’s easier for me to be reluctantly talked into air travel these days, which has historically been my least favorite activity except perhaps for having oral surgery.
